Sunderland break and attack positively, we always seem to pause, turn back on ourselves and then faff around with it. Why are we so hesitant to shoot, it's always the same.
Must admit I'm going to try away Comms for 2nd half. There's never anything remotely critical from our home comms, it's all far too polite. Anyone would think we're 2 up by the tone of their conversation.
We can talk about the defending but I think the most frustrating thing about that first half was how poor we were in terms of creation, our final ball has been absolutely dreadful, we work things nicely to the edge of the area but thatās where 90% of our attacks stop.
Itās all nice and smooth at times in the middle third.
We need a new back four. Edwards has done a good job at RB but if you look at him in the final third his final cross / ball isnāt the best. He needs to go back into CM with Camara who isnāt a RM. You need specialist players in these position, not good players who can do a job there. Lowe keeps doing this. Shoe horning players into positions that isnāt their best position because the other options he has are so poor.
Up front they need better service. Get to the edge of the box and the final ball is dreadful. We talk about the defence but time after time the final cross is ridiculously poor.
So frustrating to watch because there are some decent players in our team. We just donāt get the best out of them though.
Itās a frustrating watch so far. Mayor has made some good runs but weāve had precious little bar the shot of his which was saved. I like Law going forward but his defending has been rather sketchy. Iād push him into a midfield role instead.
Lowe walks across the pitch to complain to the ref, probably about the penalty we should have had, and then gets yellow carded and sarcastically applauds the ref.
Lowe needs to be careful because this ref dishes out red cards like confetti.
Ryan Lowe booked for arguing with the officials. I don't blame him either. We had a very good penalty appeal turned down and then they went straight down the other end and scored an offside goal.
