Quick calc. An average brickie should be able to lay 1.08m² of facing bricks in an hour. At 60 bricks/m² anything in excess of 65 bricks an hour is good going.

Just spent a few mins watching the guy building the wall nearest the camera.

10-15 seconds per brick. Obviously slower when he starts a new row having to lay the mortar on top of the old row, but once he's laying bricks again ...

It is always a pleasure watching a skilled craftsman at work, especially when he's outside in the cold and I'm not.
