Never managed a team. Has no championship experience. Has only coached under world-class managers. IMO he's not the man.

Coaching

In the summer of 2020, Barry joined Chelsea as first-team coach after three years assisting Paul Cook at Wigan Athletic. In February 2021, he replaced the departed Damien Duff in Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland coaching team.[23] He combined the role at Chelsea with the part-time role with the Republic of Ireland.[24][25] In February 2022, Barry left the Irish set-up to join Roberto Martinez at Belgium's coaching team. He cited coaching the world's no. 1 ranked team and the opportunity to compete at the World Cup as his motivation for leaving Ireland and joining the Belgians.[26][27] In March 2023, he had another dual role by rejoining Roberto Martinez staff at Portugal national team.[28] When Thomas Tuchel took over as Bayern Munich manager, Barry joined his coaching staff in April 2023,[29] to contribute as set-piece specialist.[30]

Seems to have a few years of coaching and managing.

Pity some of the dinosaurs on PASOTI can't see he's a fantastic manager who knows the SW, knows how to build a team with a restricted budget and knows how to connect with fans.
I was one of the"dinosaurs" who questioned IFs lack of club management experience when he was appointed and got roundly jumped on by several more "knowledgeable" or " Simon Hallett knows best" posters. Rosenior may be a good manager but it's a mistake to appoint a new manager in haste without a proper assessment of other potential candidates.

It’s all a bit of a lottery really isn’t it? I look down that list and can’t say anyone leaps off the page.

Suspect there will be a large element of risk avoidance this time around. I guess Rosenior does have Championship experience, some kind of link to the Westcountry and gives me the sense of someone who can build relationships with players. If he’s within reach financially I suppose he does at least tick a few boxes.

After last season it's safe to say we need someone with Championship experience who can work on a budget, who also can connect with fans and understands the area and sell it to players who will be travelling more miles than anyone else in the league. Considering all the projects we want to do and our aims of being self sustainable, we also don't want to pay compensation.

LR ticks every box.

For me, the thing with LR is that he has shown he can handle authority in the top dog manager's position, and appears well liked by his players that he's been with

With Barry it would be a step into the unknown, almost walking in Foster's footsteps perhaps.

I’m sure they will do that. They believe in process even if they got the last one wrong. Hallett will be all about refining the process not jumping on the first candidate available. If LR is interested, we will weigh him on the scales alongside others

The joys of football. Some just don't see LR as anything special, for me he ticks all the boxes and a whole lot more that weren't even thought of. Then there's Antony Barry, some read and post his CV on here and only see great things and yet for me it's so unimpressive I just don't see the hype.

All good fun!

Ipswich had a huge budget for the league they were in and could afford to take a risk.
Do you really think that Ipswich thought we've got plenty of money . let's give that coach from Man U U-18 a go .I voted for LR in the poll as I think he would be a fantastic appointment. However, looking at some of the names on that list, I do not believe that championship experience should be the number 1 factor
