15. The Smiths Crisp Factory off Northolt Avenue Ernesettle which later became part of Rank Radio International, being used as the coil winding and impreg facility, I was a young electrician who was involved in adapting the factory after it was degreased.

As a follower of Pasoti since the days when Freathy used to brighten up our Saturday nights, I have at last joined so that I can comment on the excellent Old Plymouth Quiz.
In the fifties the Tom Elliot Bedford Vaults, Starkey, Knight & Ford Tiverton Ales, stood as indicated on the map GOS has posted, at the top of Old Town Street. It was next to Dr Scholls who sold something to do with feet.
One night, one of our group mentioned to the barman (Tom Elliot?) that there was a small leaf in his pint of Tivvy, upon which we were all thrown out. We could have gone around the corner to the Sugar Refinery, the James St Vaults or the Revenue, or turned left up to the Harvest Home, on the corner of Coburg Street. With beer at a shilling a pint, (5p), and coffee a lot cheaper, we crossed the road to the El Sombrero Coffee House, just to the left of the photographer.
On Saturdays we would go “out there”, as Home Park was known, stand on the rubble of the Lyndhurst half way line, and watch the antics of Carter and Gauld. Happy days!

Absolutely love stuff like this. Welcome to Pasoti as a poster and hope you like your avatar.

No.17 looks an awful lot like the Genting casino in Union Street which I had to visit regularly when I worked for the Gambling Commission. Put off that view as there seems to be an incline in the street which there isn't in that part of Union Street.

No 10 is Old Town St with the Guinness Clock, and the Bedford Vaults, or something near it, in the background to the left of the clock building. it looks like March 1941 just after the bombing

I think 17 is the casino in Union Street. GEC definitely did have a building in that part of the street.
Is 26 Exeter Street? The Cattedown roundabout end?

No, the windows and architecture are all wrong. That was the former Forum cinema which became the Key Club in the 1960s. Strangely, I usually visited that bingo club after going to the casino.
