Wow! Cracking photos, Ian.
I find the wartime ones very emotive - no.23 of the two women walking down the debris-strewn road with every house having suffered bomb blast damage is particularly moving. Captures perfectly the mood of ordinary people 'just getting on with it' through what would've been very hard and indeed frightening times of the blitz.

Anyway, don't know what that road is, but I do think no8. is the junction of Embankment Rd with Military Rd?
