“Bickle, Bickle is true what Bingham says we’re going to win Division 3 …. “ To the tune of Grocer Jack. Seriously old to recall that. Great memories thanks for all that.

Very sad. Do I remember correctly him scoring by putting the keeper in the net along with the ball?

So sad to hear about Mike Bickle. I was only thinking about him one day last week, as I had heard nothing for ages, knowing he was in a bad way.
I used to play with Mike at City Engineers. He was, perhaps obviously, a few notches in talent above the rest of us.
Thanks for the service and the goals at Argyle Mike. Your will always be the name that jumps straight into my mind when I think of the Boxing Day Massacre against the Turks.

Sad news. Before my time but had the absolute pleasure of working with his son. A lovely bloke. One day he brought in a box of newspaper cuttings etc and we sat and read through much of it with big smiles. It sounded like he was very loved. Thoughts to Frank and all the family.x

Ah the memories! Was there for his 4 against Cardiff and the 4 against Torquay. Also remember he teamed up with Richard Reynolds for a while - quite a formidable partnership. Certainly one of my heroes of the day - thanks for the many smiles you brought us

RIP Mike and thanks for the memories especially Boxing Day. Still remember the goals despite the long passage of time.
Best Wishes to his family. Remember him as an Argyle legend and much loved.

Botley, Soton.
Living in St Austell as a teenager I had the privilege of watching Mike demolishing opposing team with his scoring feats. A goal machine. Thanks for all the joy you gave me big man, my first football hero!

RIP

What awful news to wake up to. My all time favourite player, a true legend. Thanks for the memories Mike. I'm honoured to have been able to have seen you play. RIP.

What a servant Mike Bickle was. Entertaining on his own up front. Ah, the memories.

I remember him to be the cavaliering old fashioned centre forward who epitomised the work done by the no 9 shirt in those days.

Strong, fearless, not quite up to Mariner or Tynan's standards (A lot of his goal chances were blazed over the bar I seem to remember!) but a willing workhorse, especially in those mud covered pitches, but there was always excitement when he got the ball in front of goal.

Rest in Peace, dear friend, you are well up there with the best Argyle have had. You made up for lack of skill with perseverance and determination and there will be many who still remember the goals you did score whilst you were with us.

Another legend gone.

Condolences to all his family.

One of my early heroes. Probably only saw him play half a dozen times, but he left a great impression.
