He is a very experienced sports journalist, who has covered numerous Argyle games for the Plymouth Indy down the years. In truth he probably communicates better by the written word, but he is very knowledgeable about the game.
Cut him some slack.

What's happened to Sparksy? I thought last season was his sabbatical. I was expecting back in the comms box this season. Has he chucked it in all together? Hope not.

He has a proper BBC job now. He took over the countywide breakfast show when Simon Bates boogered off. None of that travelling anymore.

Ok, thanks for that. Didn't he used to host the Breakfast show and do the Argyle comms? I suppose we are none of us getting any younger.......

Been scrappy but we've definitely been the more threatening team & carried on pressing forward since we took the lead. Taylor Sinclair by far our best player to be honest, defensively and offensively.

Matthews has been limping all game, did pull off a very good save from their only chance.

I'm sure Fleetwood would have targeted him massively on corners and done whatever it took to get Max Childs his debut.

Could have sworn we were playing Northampton!

He hosted a breakfast show just for Plymouth but this gig is across the whole county. Probably a much better fee so no need for the overtime.
