Branston released

Branston was immense last season and played a huge part in keeping us up. He started this season late because of injury but played well when he returned to the team.
Unfortunately he struggled when the formation changed to three centre backs and then picked up an injury.

He needed to be a free agent when the transfer window was open so today's news means he can't join another club. He couldn't go out on loan either because he was injured.

When as bad as argyle were last year, centre backs are always likely to feature in any heroics (bit of oxymoronism surely). But that's what gb's game is, a solid stopper.

Can't have someone that uncomfortable on the ball if wishing to push on from the relegation zone though.

I followed our win at Chesterfield in a McDonald's in Florida on Twitter and kept picturing Branno heading the ball away time and time again.
