Two things that gives me some hope.

We are winning and our forwards have yet to score...(although that stat could eventually turn sour)

Songo has a lack of competitive football and the CDM position is new to him. Can only get better with more matches l feel.

Still think we are lacking pace in the midfield and forward areas.

Does Jervis' goal not count?

It does. Completely forgot tbh. Goodwillie, Slew and Spencer lm more anxious about in terms of them finding a role in the team and being able to chip in at the same time.

Spencer will come good. He had a better game yesterday according to those who went.
Goodwillie I'm not convinced about.
Slew is always going to be back-up.

Got to remember we had very good seasons in the past where we had goals coming from all over the team and our top goal-scorers were centre-backs.

Spencer l was really hopeful about during pre-season. His physicality is what concerns me especially against the lumbering centre halves in this league.

Goodwillie is frustrating to watch. There is a player there but l just can't see where he fits into our team, especially with us playing only one up top.

This final loan is very important because he may help the balance of the side whilst improving the impact that players such as Goodwillie and Spencer have on games.

Enjoyable match mostly I thought, first 15 and last 15 Blackpool had their best parts of the game, a match I thought was a good tussle, end to end at times. But Blackpool are not as good as I expected they might be.

Big Luke had two cracking saves in the first half.
Sawyer was working well but seemed to struggle through the first 45 ??
Ossie, great defensive block in first half, a decent cross into the 6yd box around 47 minute (which was his first) apart from the, nothing like the guy some fans on here claim, was run ragged at times by the big No.23, didn't cross the line much at all at RB and if he did, it wasn't with the ball? Looked knacked before being moved to CM.
Thought Smith put in a good shift, nothing special just a journeyman like shift.
Bradley did well first half, was knackered later in the game which was why I thing Blackpool came into it, we had put so much in but couldn't kill the game with a second.
Bulvitus, Sailed through, not much to complain about, commanded the box for his header.
Jake at time is it that he's unsure? or lazy? or both? Lad has potential and prob needs a bit more belief, made some good runs down their left in the latter spells of the 2nd half I thought?
Carey, for me fell in and out of the match, but not moaning too much, some of his passing was a joy, especially a long ball to the corner near the end, we maybe could have done better getting it into the box??
Donaldson also a decent shift on a hot day, tried to take men on, I think/hope as the season goes on he comes on to a game and more into himself.
Big Yann, I thought was a possible man of the match? at times. As a poster said, lot of good tackles and headers, some tackles he may need to watch in future, but his attempts to run out of a defensive position with the ball are a tad worrying.
Spencer, thought he ran his guts out, for me was a standout, lost count of the times he was fouled and got nothing, if he wasn't kicked he was pulled. Some fans got a bit annoyed at the amount of times he was on the ground? but he was n't getting any protection from the ref. Also the lack of support he received from the midfield didn't help, he was always trying to hold onto the ball and hold up play (which is part of a forwards game).
Purington did well enough as a replacement, but seemed like a lot of Blackpool's attack came down their right-side the final ten, so did enough.
Miller came on the last twenty, made a few solid tackles especially onre where we lost the ball further up the park to THREE Blackpool players, think he won two of those before being fouled, not seen a replay of his block on the line, but it looked Roy of the Rovers stuff, ball over big Luke and I dunno how much he actually read the situation but it a genius clearance and certainly saved the 3 pts, other than that not a lot of time to do much.

Finally, the Green Army..............AMAZING from start to finish, I haven't seen highlights yet but we sounded loud as h3ll at our end, even the Cops and Security were impressed, one Cop videoing it on his fone.

ps. What was the Handbags way up the back??

What caused the bother at the back of the stand that had a couple of people escorted out by stewards?

Just seen the extended highlights on Argyle Player. If that is a true reflection of the play, I think it is very unfair to say we were lucky. Blackpool created a few chances as you would expect from the home side, but we also created several chances. We also made some mistakes in defence but they never had time to punish us because we recovered well.

Certainly, the organisation was poor when Potts broke from our corner and ran the length of the pitch. Threlkeld tried to stop Potts with Sawyer covering the middle and that incident resulted in Sawyer's injury. DA will have had something to say about that lapse this week.

Smith seemed to be involved in most of our positive moves but I did also note an excellent through pass from Spencer to Jervis that resulted in the sending off.

Well done Argyle for a hard-fought win.

So you are saying we looked knackered against 10 men?!

Near the very end yes, we worked our backsides off for larger parts of the game than Blackpool, hence they had some wind still in them the last 10. Again it was our inability to kill games off before the final whistle, pretty much like last season.

Just my opinion.

Indeed, it was earned, not smash and grab by any means mate.
