If Carey is average then we have a very below average team as he is by far our best player.
He is naturally gifted and unlike a lot of those type of players he has real desire and puts a good shift in for the team.

We would miss him badly from the team. In a league where there are a lot of hardworking, grafting steady eddy type players he is exceptional and reasonably consistent.

Easily championship standard and we are lucky to have such a great player.
He will probably move onto a bigger and higher club in the summer especially if we don't get promoted and only then will some people realise what they are missing.
But then those same people probably rate Donaldson

All Argyle fans rate Carey, he is our best player. How is he is easily Championship standard at 27 and having never been anywhere near it?
I guess you think he could be doing a job in the Premiership?

He is a cracking player but let's be realistic.

The SPL has a broad range of players, many are easily Championship standard. Carey also used to play for Celtic like. Hardly an undiscovered non league gem.

Is Omar Bogle also not Championship quality, having not played anywhere near that level?

Saying Carey used to play for Celtic is like saying Ebanks-Blake used to play for Man U. He played once in all the years he was there, in a league well below Championship standard.

For the first 20 minutes against Newport Carey was brilliant, he was causing problems on the left plus providing his trademark phenomenal work rate but his problem is that he quickly and easily gets frustrated with his team mates and the referee and his game suffers.

He then becomes just a regular player in the team rather than the star player. Carey is a very good player when the team is doing well but goes missing when the team is struggling.

he had no reason to get frustrated with the ref.10 out of 10 for the ref today.

Was bang awful today. But have to have sympathy with some of those players who are being played woefully out of position.
Carey today came deeper and deeper to try and instigate something creative but nothing came off and his passing was unusually errant.
The 10 minute spell where his prime objective seemed to be to try to get the full back sent off had all the hallmarks of a frustrated, disillusioned player
