Not really. How do you define a cast off? Someone at the end of their contract that doesn't want to read-sign? Lewi for example.

But of a simplistic and somewhat ignorant way of looking at things in my opinion.

Not at all. Lewi was not released by the club,in the same sense that Blizzard or Banton were released. They were not required. Lewi is required and has been offered a further contract....Big difference.Maybe Pedro should have said released players.
