Adams will want to make sure our three keepers are fully match fit before returning which means Matthews will be with us for quite a while. :)

Since joining us he hasn't put a foot (or hand) wrong - a good shot stopper, comes for crosses, can kick well and now saves penalties.

He's entering into Alan Miller type legendary status.

Will Adams be allowed to keep him until all three are fit? I doubt it. Matthews is on a day to day emergency loan. He came in because Argyle had NO fit senior 'keeper available. The club may get away with one 'keeper returning to fitness but once there are two available to Adams, he surely will have to go back. There might well be some dodgy medical certificates heading towards EFL headquarters. :shh:

It won’t be that easy I’m afraid. Certificates have to be secured from independent doctors which then have to be independently verified. As soon as Luke is assessed as fit Mathews will be on his way.

Or letheren or Te Loeke.

Yep, I only said Luke as it had been reported that he will be the first one to return to action.

Noticeable how Letheren on crutches went up to support the boys no sign of the other injured players !
Mathews is too good to be someone number 3 goalkeeper at 23 years of age and shows what is wrong with this academy system in this country where the bigger clubs cherry pick and then stifle the best young talent
We have e just won two youth world cups with a golden generation what's the odds that only two or three of these two squads of players make it as top top players ? Spain won the world cup and Euro championships with a similar crop of players a generation ago

I think Letheren was in Bradford anyway having had surgery up there.... was there to get the bus back.
Correct. He said the specialist for his op was in Bradford. Someone collected him from the hospital on Friday and took him to the team hotel. He then cadged a lift back to Plymouth on the team coach.

I think sadly we already have 3 first team 'keepers in addition to young Cooper. I can't imagine we will be able to or want to stretch the budget to a 4th.

Matthews has been fantastic for us, unless we can do some business in the summer to bring him back sadly for us he will be one who simply passes through on his way to bigger things.

The lad ahead of Remi Matthews has just been called in to the England senior squad for Tuesday’s game against Brazil.
Angus Gunn is on loan to Norwich from Manchester City and his dad is former Scotland ‘keeper, Bryan Gunn.

It makes you wonder why Norwich felt the need to take a 'keeper on loan

Something quite romantic about a club legend's son playing at his father's club and in the same position.
We need a target man, anyone know if Trigger has a son?

I'm not one to bash Adams often, but if there's an area he messed up a bit in it's the GK department.

We could really have done without signing Te Loeke at all. We signed Letheren as a reaction to having two injured keepers, when perhaps a loan would have sufficed.

All we need really is three keepers - a first choice, a reserve and one for the SWPL.

We could have got by by having McCormick and a loan keeper, someone decent like Matthews who could have pushed Luke for the starting spot. If said loan keeper got injured, he would have returned to his club and we would have been entitled to look for another loan.

We seem to have wasted two wages on Te Loeke and Letheren when one season long loan would have been more efficient on the budget.

The Te Loeke signing is utterly ridiculous. His record is terrible and yet we still sign him!!

Did anyone even do research on him?

The problem for clubs loaning out goalkeepers is that unless they are going as first choice, they learn very little by being on the bench in a lower division.

Apparently the Dutch scout had a “magical” piece of cake just before filling in the scout report. He’s also Te Loeke’s brother and agent and he secured an £80 million agent fee in the transfer.

Yes I do understand that. But if Remi Matthews is around McCormick's level (or better), all parties have to be confident that Matthews will force DA's hand with his quality which will see him into the first team.

Argyle have had seasons where Larrieu and McCormick pushed each other all season and shared the starting spot. The form of one pushed the other to improve and it was a beneficial thing.

It would be up to Norwich if they felt their talented maturing keeper would be better playing half a season in League One rather than acting like a spare part around Carrow Road.

Would we prefer Mike Cooper to hang around if McCormick and Letheren were fit and available, or would he be better off going to Dorchester or Salisbury and battling their keeper for the starting spot? It would be a no brainer to me.
