Sounds like a sort of lower league Diego Costa, both in playing style & persona. I wouldn't mind us signing a striker with a bit of fire in his belly. Get him in.

This guy looks a complete pain in the ass who could wreck our dressing room. Sendings off. Arrogant behaviour. Biting opponents. Forearm smash on an opponent. Accused of kicking an opponent in the head. 2 yellows within 30 seconds. Assaulting a linesman. Involved in a brawl in his last loan. £6000 fine for serious abuse of a referee. Even a 97mph motoring conviction. Currently frozen out to play for reserves at a Celtic. Hope this goes mammaries up and he goes elsewhere.

Sounds like that piece of work, 2 weeks ago who played for Peterborough - Maddison

Not happy with his history, do we need all this, as we have a brilliant dressing room spirit

These are the exact reasons that make this plausible, a player with this kind or reputation is well up Adams' street.

Adams is no shy retiring sort, we've apparently seen him on good behaviour and he's managed to ruffle the feathers of pretty much every ghastly football manager in L2, he will suffer no fools.

He has become something of an expert in turning players careers around down here. We seem to get all sorts and each time Adams seems to find something where many managers have failed in the past. This lad could very well be another, if he is we'll have one hell of a player on our hands.

You aren't going to get a player of Ciftci's ability in League 1 without a few flaws or a bit of baggage, if he was completely flawless we wouldn't have a chance & we'd have to look at lesser players.

People expect too much. Hope this happens, a gamble worth taking, especially with DA's track record of setting career's straight.

But he could be suspended half the time

From the comments I’ve read from Celtic fans on Twitter they seem to think this is a good signing for us.

The only reason they’re all so desperate to see him gone is because he wears #7 which they want Paddy Roberts to take if he re-signs.

Seems like he’s got more to his game than being a lump and we really need a striker so I’m happy with this deal.

I wouldn't say a bit of baggage, it is a heck of a lot of baggage, he may have a lot of ability, but could be disrupted, bit of a risk.

Ashley Barnes was had a similar problem attitude but it hasn't stop clubs signing him. If he scores and scores well he will no doubt be forgiven any issues (within reason).

Derek should tell Celtic that if they loan him to us for a season , he will sort him out for them. With the proviso that they continue to pay all of his wages...

If true..

.. this is very exciting for a few reasons:

- A real statement of intent following resigning Carey - we have for one season a $1.5m Celtic forward with a goal every 3 game scoring record. We've come a long way in a few years.

- Looking at several highlight clips, he is a handful, as someone else said a lower league Costa perhaps? Exactly what is needed. This is a good clip of his last Dundee Utd season before his Celtic move https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRQLFjS48PA

- He is mobile, skilful, a little bit aggro and knows where the net is. What more could you ask for from a centre forward?

- There's a game on his highlight reel where he scores against Celtic, which include Virgil Van Dyjk as their centre back. He is about to become the world's most expensive defender and this fella is scoring against a team with him in it. I'll take that as an indication he has got some talent.

- Taylor's injury is disappointing and I feel for him but it could be a blessing in disguise in 3 month swhen we get him fit again. At the moment we have Blissett getting game time, that will only improve him. Taylor we know is good quality but he is not a prolific goalscorer but getting him back will be like having a boost of a new signing just before the busy Xmas period. Fletcher is a great prospect but he needs games and confidence scoring at National league or possibly League 2 level. If he gets loan experience under his belt for 3 months could he then step up to League 1 as an impact sub?. Add to this someone like Ciftci, and in 3 to 6 months time we could have a much improved strikeforce with all 4 strikers perhaps able to come on in a game, add value and make things happen.

- I have a theory that it is very important to Adams that he enhances his reputation back home in Scotland. Ultimately I think he sees his long term future back there. Therefore by improving players that people back in Scotland know well - like Carey, Miller, Wylde, Ainsworth, Ciftci etc it only enhances that reputation. Not only does he know the market well but he is also very motivated to develop players.

- Also Adams is ambitious and his CV is very strong, he needs this Argyle season to exceed expectations (ie get in top half near the play offs) and he knows he needs to sign a proper striker that could also handle scoring goals in the Championship too. Perhaps Ciftci is that sort of player.

It is worth watching is all round play in the scottish cup semi final here. He seems to make thing happen around him, albeit with the help of some truly comical Scottish defending! Fingers crossed for this signing, and its not the agent jumping the gun!

Just looked through some of the footage, he certainly looks a talent. Can play with his back to goal, can run at players, decent size and a good turn of pace. Would give our attack a completely different dimension although I can't imagine Adams letting him wonder around all over the place if he is playing as our main striker..
