So some interesting debate but anyone got a clue on when a Tribunal may take place?

Accept the clubs might reach an agreement but surely a Tribunal date must be pencilled in should agreement not be reached.

In the case of Danny Ings, he signed for Liverpool on 8th June 2015 and the tribunal outcome was published in April 2016

Thanks for posting that.

Nelson's fee if set by Tribunal will be interesting. Cresswell appears to be the closest of the case studies on there.

Rovers bagged over a million in total once Cresswell stepped up another division to the PL with the bulk of the money coming from the 20% of the transfer fee profit. Could Curtis attract a big move for as many pound notes in League One? Unless he moves to the Championship with Oxford, his BIG move could well be the one after next which wouldn't benefit Argyle.

Looks as though the tribunal will not be until after the season starts.

Unless someone knows that a date has been arranged.

LC, yes I saw that but why should it take so long?

How can clubs decide on budgets for the playing squad when it takes months to sort out a fee?

I have no idea and don't even know if the Ins case is representative of how long these things take. Seeing as it is a compensation payment rather than a transfer fee, the club should view this as additional income when it arrives. If they need that injection now then they have the option of coming to an agreement nearer to what Oxford are prepared to pay "out of court"

In the Ings case, there may well have been a big time lapse between the Tribunal's decision on compensation and the release/leak of the amount all those months later. I really cannot see that it serves any party any benefit to be slow about the issue.

Agree with Lundan C above, this isn't a transfer fee so we shouldn't get it up front. Its a compensation payment (bonus money if you will) for someone taking a player under 24 who had previously been employed by us. If cashflow is tight, then we would take an "argyle price" offer from Oxford and the cash would flow immediately. The fact its going to tribunal points to either the offer being so derisory that it doesn't even meet "argyle prices" or the club don't need the cash (bearing in mind the recent injection) and are prepared to sit it out and see what the committee come up with.

Ryan Sweeney of AFC Wimbledon is set to sign for Stoke in a deal worth £250,000. He's a 19 year old defender. Been with them 10 years making a total of 13 appearances. Possible comparison of what we can expect for Nelson?

who knows, but Sweeney is younger, more potential, moving to the premiership.

Think it will come down to who pleads our case. Who will that be??

I don't think we will get anywhere near that. The fact he's going to a Premiership side shows more potential than Nelson going to L1.

I think we are looking at £100k with various add ons and clauses

We must try to ensure that we get a decent sell on clause.
