Midfielders Ashley Parillon (Clitheroe, 11 goals so far) and Dayle Grubb (Weston-super-Mare, 9 goals so far) both scored again today. Striker Jason 'he's on fire' Prior (Bognor Regis, 28 goals in 29 games so far) also scored another two.

As for "contacting someone at the club" or whatever, i haven't and won't, i have my reasons for that which will remain private. Nothing sinister though so don't worry. :silent: :)

Feel free to give 'em a nudge and a wink in this thread's direction by all means, for what it's worth.

EDIT: Conor Washington also scored today which takes him on to 23 goals for the season so far now i think.

Can anyone confirm if this thread has been made aware to the 'people in power'?

Forget forwards we urgently need a dominant central defender.

Hi Mole, you have quite strongly recommended Ashley Parillon, Tony Stokes and Luke Williams as attacking midfielders who can create and/or score goals, are these players solely attacking prospects or do they possess the neccessary qualities to perform more defensive roles if required ?

Parillon is more of a creative type who needs license to create without being restricted by defensive duties, although that said it shouldn't be confused with a lack of workrate and effort.

Stokes is someone that is more defensive minded when playing in midfield and can do a bit of everything. He is a combative, box to box type of midfielder who can put his foot in, create and score.

Williams is an out and out winger who can deliver dangerous crosses, has an eye for goal and tracks back with a great work ethic.

League One outfit Scunthorpe have had a bid for promising Stalybridge Celtic striker Connor Jennings rejected.

The 19-year-old has been in fine form for the Blue Square Bet North outfit this season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions.

But chairman Rob Gorski insists the Iron's undisclosed bid fell some way short of the club's valuation.

"We expect a six-figure fee for Connor and we have had eight clubs showing an interest," he said. "We will not stand in his way but this offer grossly undervalues his worth. We've never had a player like him, he is hugely talented."

Jennings, whose brother James plays for Blue Square Bet Premier side Cambridge, added to his growing reputation with a debut goal for the England C team against Gibraltar in November.

His goals have helped Celtic, managed by former Morecambe boss Jim Harvey, climb to second in the table.

Possibly out of reach now unfortunately, unless you have a "six-figure fee" to spare under your new owner...

Glynn Hobbs!

A good player with football league ability. I know for a fact teams have had him watched over the past few years at both Plymouth Parkway and Tavistock. Big, strong, quick and a good finisher. Even Man Utd were said to be interested a few years back, according to the local press anyway.

Ideal for Crawley then !!!!!

I was more shocked when i heard Prior had signed for Eastleigh rather than him trialling at Newcastle - Prior is better than Conference South level. Fortunately no contract or registration has been signed by either Prior or Bognor so he could still sign for whoever - and at 12k he is well worth a punt.

Good luck to him in his trial at Newcastle

It's safe to say Prior won't be joining Eastleigh...

EASTLEIGH have withdrawn their offer for Jason Prior.

It comes a day after Newcastle invited the striker to a trial.

The Nyewood Lane favourite was set to move to the Conference South side in a £12,500 deal but the club’s director of football has said they have now ended their interest.

Yesterday they claimed Bognor were guilty of breach of contract - but they appear to have dropped that claim now.

A statement on the Eastleigh forum said: “We have today spoken with Bognor in respect of Jason Prior, and withdrawn our offer for the player.

“It is a FACT that we had a confirmed agreement with Bognor to sign the player on January 3rd 2012. Both Clubs have come to agreement in respect of this matter, no further action will be taken by either Club.

“Eastleigh Football Club has acted with complete propriety throughout this entire episode, and entirely within FA rules. No further official comment will be made.”

It is understood Prior will head to the north-east early next week. He has already attracted interest from a number of League One and League Two clubs.

So no-one with any clout at Argyle is aware of this thread? So the point of the thread is therefore in question a little isn't it? It bugs me that there's all this information on this thread, but unless someone at Argyle is reading (or, more importantly, acting) it all becomes utterly benign.

Mole; I really think you should swallow your pride (or whatever it is that's stopping you) and get in touch with Carl. What harm could it do?

Parillon is a great shout, saw him score twice yesterday against Harrogate Railway for Clitheroe technically superb, quick, two feet, good first touch, great vision and off the ball movement. Definitely needs to play higher than D 1 N.

Always important for a footballer IMO

Jim Paterson is currently a free agent.

Towards the back end of last season he was one of our best players IMO and should've been retained. Can play LB or LM, great left foot, experienced and a model pro. Think he'd be a good signing. Certainly better than Robbie Williams and Luke Daley, our other backup left sided options.
