Apparently something great is happening soon in Plymouth which is going to be announced at midnight according to the Herald website? also showing a picture of HP setup with concert stage, anyone know what this is?

Was it worth waiting nearly 5 years to make that your first post?

I went to Rod Stewart, Elton John, Westlife & Meatloaf.

All were excellent apart from Meatloaf. That was awful, he was peed, it was raining, the place was empty.

So what is happening with the (any) grandstand plans?

The only plan is to build a temporary stage across the front of it.

On the night, Rod the Mod will probably be one of the few people in the stadium who is actually older than the Grandstand.

It's touch and go who looks better for their age but if push comes to shove, I say the Grandstand.

Rod Stewart is safe and will put (old) bums on seats but the city needs relevant acts at HP.

With the stage already up during next summer perhaps other acts will be booked?

Not everything has to. With the stage already set up at HP let's hope some relevant acts are signed up. I'd like to see a rock band.

The problem there is that most major acts who would fill a stadium venue, plan their tours and venues a lot longer than ten months in advance.

And most of the acts likely to come to HP can't realistically book 10 months in advance because of the distinct possibility that they will 'no longer be with us'

I am sure that with the stage already set up, the Promotor would do everything to add other performers, just like previously.

Early days yet - not even a date for Rod Stewart yet, great news for the Club and the City, always good publicity.
