I did not predict relegation but said, at a very early stage, I would settle for us remaining in this division but that doesn't suit either of your agendas.

Given then that it looks as though we will stay in this division, possibly by a double figure point cushion, why are you so critical of Lowe, his methods, and what he stands for?
I do not rate Lowe as much as some fans because I am not keen on his management style. I may be old fashioned but I would prefer him to manage rather than be " one of the boys" and rely less on stats and analysis. I am delighted that we are likely to maintain our status this season ,which I viewed as a write off because of the pandemic, but will be very surprised if Lowe can take us much further. It's all about opinions and time will tell .

I'm a bit confused by "manage rather than be one of the boys" - don't necessarily see that as an either or. I'm not sure Lowe seeks to be "one of the boys" although the cheeky scouser persona might make it appear otherwise. He's 20 yrs older than a lot of his squad (or roughly twice their age) so he's hardly likely to socialise with them away from work. We also live in strange times, and if the manager is making an effort to emphasise with young footballers, many of whom are a long way from home and greatly restricted in what they can do in their down time, is that such a bad thing? What makes you think he chooses to be "one of the boys"?

I agree a bit on stats, as it's the interpretation of stats that is important rather than the stats themselves. I'm bemused however that you want less analysis. In any walk of life, management has to incorporate a lot of analysis and although it is certainly possible to over analyse, that's a lesser evil than failing to analyse. Where has he over analysed?

Lowe's far from being perfect and has made plenty of mistakes. The proof of the pudding is how he learns from the things he's got wrong. The overall picture, however, is that Argyle should finish comfortably clear of the drop zone after an up and down season. That surely should merit some praise even from those who doubt that such progress can be maintained over the next season or two.

Oldage, you must be the person that sat behind me until I had to move seats, constantly moaning, constantly slagging off Danny mayor and always shouting for the player with the ball to hit it long.. I get fans opinions differ but sometimes I just get the impression that some fans go to hone park just to have a moan. Regardless of how well we do.
