The point is that we haven’t seen much of Cooper in League action yet to know very much about the strengths and weaknesses of his game. Macey proved that being highly rated in reserve football doesn’t necessarily qualify a keeper for league football. Hence there is a degree of risk.[/quote]
Of course there is some degree of risk just as there was with Palmer last season. I am happy to trust the judgement of Lowe, Schumacher, Wilmott and Dewsnip or anyone else who has had an input. Palmer was of no monetary value to us, Cooper might be worth a lot one day. Could we have signed McGregor or G Cooper with Palmer's wages rather than McCormick's for instance? Lowe has an overall budget and has to judge whether playing Cooper rather than Palmer is more than offset by signing one of his new additions who could improve the team elsewhere.

Christian Walton (another Argyle youth prospect) must have been a similar age to Cooper when he has a stand out season for Wigan in league 1. Would have thought we would have been delighted to have him on loan at the time.

Like most on here I think this is the right time to back him. He will of course make mistakes, in fact he has to doesnt he to develop? However his growth will benefit both him and Argyle in years to come where as for a loan player their development only benefits the parent club.

Good luck to you Coops and let’s hope we all have your back this year :scarf:
