OK, if he goes..who next?

If we do need a new manager at some point then i wouldnt mind cocko given an opportunity.
He made the final 3 last time so must have impressed the board at the time.
Listen to him here and you can understand why.
Need to sign into bbc i player to listen in though.
Interview is 9 mins in.

Always struck me as a bit of a character. A bit like holloway in some ways.
Knows what it takes to succeed down in the far SW as well having played
for one of our most successful ever teams. That team and ethos was built on
a strong defence something i think he would bring in spadefuls to our table.
Probably a cheaper option too.
He would need some time to assess though just like any new manager would.
So early decemberish? Is about the right time i guess if the decline worsens.
Could we even afford at the moment to replace a manager with a 5 year contract though?
In the meantime i am still backing DA as good managers do suffer bad spells at times.
Keith hill and paul tisdale for example have both overcome bad spells recently.

I haven’t seen one good suggestion, with the possible exception of Coughlan.

Still think we will turn this around, but I’d be disappointed if we didn’t go abroad for our next manager.

Michael Appleton would be a good fit............

Found out later night he's being paid his contract off by Leicester £500k per year. We couldn't afford him.

I like Cocko but I think Keith Hill is the obvious choice for our situation.

Steve Bruce.

I'd have Holloway or Warnock back in a heartbeat. Both seem to know more about the game than Adams does. I don't know why we can't do the basics properly any more.

I'd support any manager who put a good old fashioned 442 up, did man marking well, practised defending and attacking corners. Basically any schoolboy team manager using the 'Usbourne First Book of Football' as his guidebook.

Can't do any worse than yesterday.

There's just no way he'd leave Rochdale for Argyle.

Maybe, maybe if they sacked him, but even then it would be a long shot. And they'd be mad to get rid anyway.

Not sure who would fancy turning the ship around. Grayson thinks he is better than he is so no thanks. Would love Mark Warburton to apply but he would be way out of our price range. I suspect Cotterill would apply but again no thanks. Considering our predicament, could we afford to take a chance on someone with little or no managerial experience like Cocko? Anyway, unless we get battered at home on Saturday, I suspect he will still be in charge until at least the Chairman changeover.

You never know who would be interested until the vacancy is there and advertised.

I'd go with Cocko myself and resign myself that it would be in league 2.

Who suggested Gary Johnson? It's not 1986. His methods are from another century. Created disharmony at how many clubs?
We have people on here who want us to play Cooper, Sangster or maybe Battle - none of that will happen under an old hand who has been around. If we want a brave new world on the pitch it may need a brave new hand off it. Someone with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Genuinely can't believe some people are suggesting Gary Johnson. If he was from any other region in the country he wouldn't even cross people's minds. He got sacked from Cheltenham in the league below us only recently. Good enough for Torquay's level but his time in the football league is up.
