I served Queen and country for over 30 years, including in two conflicts. My Grandfather was wounded in Normandy. In Ww2. He would be turning in his grave if he could read some of the cr4p on here, complaining about reference to the blitz spirit. Spare me the faux offence of the minority armchair warriors complaining about light hearted reference to the blitz spirit in relation to today's match. Complete and utter to33ers, including the site's resident troll.
Oxford Dictionary, definition of blitz spirit:-
stoicism and determination in a difficult or dangerous situation, especially as displayed by a group of people.
"he urged the British public to show their Blitz spirit in the face of the recession"
Or
ā11,300 Argyle fans, plus two hundred Crewe fans some of whom travelled long distances, showed their Blitz spirit to go and watch their teams play on a wet and windy day in Plymouthā
The fact that it would seem quite likely that some of you were willing the game to be called off or abandoned so that you could gloat, says more about you than any of us referring to the Blitz spirit. As it was, there was a really good crowd of all ages, kids, pensioners etc. who obviously didnāt think it was too dangerous to go to the game. Get over it. You were wrong.
