Just people with stiff upper lips as far as the eye can see. None of em going to HP though. Too dangerous

We get it, you're a tough guy. You win arguments by shouting snow flakes and blitz spirit.

You're not at all predictable. Just deciding if you read the Daily Mail or the Sun.

Times actually pal. Iā€™m guessing youā€™re a Guardian reader

Not exclusively.

Just wondering why unthinking types insert Blitz Spirit or Snowflake into every debate.
Almost as if they don't really know anything about it.

Because we arenā€™t totally up ourselves and just see the funny side. Sod all to do with blitz!! Am in the ground along with thousands of others. Pitch looks fine. Obviously weather will affect things but there you go. Rain has eased and the wind isnā€™t too bad. Should be an interesting game. WAAAW :scarf:

I make it 29 posts and counting already today from Owl! None of them interesting. The point lost him as he always knows best is that comparing the suffering endured during the blitz with going to a football match is disrespectful and NOT funny.

Get over yourself BG. Iā€™m ex military so donā€™t need lectures about respect.
Good game going on down here. Two good sides overcoming the conditions and playing some good football.
Even the kids 5 a side is happening at half time.

Keep up the good work mate. Donā€™t listen to those idiots like Old Richie.
Very good game, just drying off but wouldnā€™t have missed it for the world.

Thanks Woody. Loved the game. Somebody elsewhere on here said it was a shocking game. Not sure which game he was watching. It was a credit to both teams and Argyle just kept battling. Will never know how their player missed that sitter at the BP end. Nothing to do with the conditions, just think he must have had one eye on the Crewe fans, ready to run and celebrate with em!

Not sure either of you 2 are in a position to be questioning other people's intelligence when your whole arguments consist of bleating Blitz and Snowflakes. Stick to the tabloids

What a miss. He was planning spending the goal bonus. Donā€™t ever think Iā€™ve seen a miss like it in a game I was at. They werenā€™t at the same game as us then, Argyle certainly showed the blitz spirit.

I served Queen and country for over 30 years, including in two conflicts. My Grandfather was wounded in Normandy. In Ww2. He would be turning in his grave if he could read some of the cr4p on here, complaining about reference to the blitz spirit. Spare me the faux offence of the minority armchair warriors complaining about light hearted reference to the blitz spirit in relation to today's match. Complete and utter to33ers, including the site's resident troll.

Oxford Dictionary, definition of blitz spirit:-
stoicism and determination in a difficult or dangerous situation, especially as displayed by a group of people.
"he urged the British public to show their Blitz spirit in the face of the recession"
Or
ā€œ11,300 Argyle fans, plus two hundred Crewe fans some of whom travelled long distances, showed their Blitz spirit to go and watch their teams play on a wet and windy day in Plymouthā€

The fact that it would seem quite likely that some of you were willing the game to be called off or abandoned so that you could gloat, says more about you than any of us referring to the Blitz spirit. As it was, there was a really good crowd of all ages, kids, pensioners etc. who obviously didnā€™t think it was too dangerous to go to the game. Get over it. You were wrong.

I drove 240 miles to the game. Get over yourself because people commented the roads weren't the best or the safest.
Stop disrespecting amazing commitment by your Grandad by bringing it into an argument where it has no relevance.

Well done. Nothing to do with people commenting on the roads, it was the almost demanding nature of many of the posts, that it would be irresponsible for the game to go ahead and it really MUST be called off. For Christā€™s sake, we had people saying it should have been called off on a Friday. They deserved to have the p taken out of them and thatā€™s all it was. And donā€™t lecture me on supposedly disrespecting my own grandfather you complete and utter idiot. Loved the blitz spirit by all the supporters and players today, plus ground staff. Even you. Surprised you managed to drive down, with your head so far up your own backside.
