Remember this ?

Yep, one of the best things we did from a footballing perspective. Until this season, some of his signings (before the money issues) were among the worst ever and the football on the pitch was dreadful.

My question is what would happen in today’s situation if DA wasn’t on a long term deal? Would he be axed if he was say on a rolling 1 year contract?

That’s a valid point. I honestly think if DA was not on a long term deal then he would be gone by now.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't have a clause in DA's contract enabling us to sack him and pay a fixed sum rather than the entirety of his contract.

The money issues were there when he took over. 5 months into his reign the players were going unpaid. We offloaded players in the January and admin followed. He was on to a loser when he took over.

Yeah I always felt sorry for Peter Reid, he was on a hiding to nothing. A legend for what he did for us mind, if I saw him in a pub I’d definitely buy him a beer.

To remember that he (an honest man) was kicked out and Ridsdale (insert comment here) stayed on just makes me shudder even now. What a phuckin' mess we were then!
