IIRC it was never announced how short or long his contract was when he signed ... was always going to be a short term deal and one that put him in the window for other clubs. He is a cut above what we currently have and more consistent than Carey could ever be yet it's likely we will be held to account for signing a player like Çiftçi on a season long loan when we shouldve spend the money on Toums from the start

If I recall correctly there were a lot of negative comments on here regarding the player and it has only been following the last couple of games that there has been atrue appreciation of what he has brought to Argyle.

How do you or anyone else know when these contract extension talks started? But I suppose it is just the usual lets kick Argyle while we can mentality come to the surface.

If the injury was similar to any of our keepers, would you not be worried about wasting precious budget money!!!!

There is a fine line between getting a contract too early, with the possibility of wasting money if he then has a serious injury, and leaving it too late, when another Club could persuade him to go elsewhere.
