As has been pointed out eloquently here by those who have had experience of this quite terrible and totally incurable disease (at the moment) it is the awareness raising that has been a key issue for the MNDA over recent years that has been a key part of their campaign. Hence the posters all over mainline railway stations in recent weeks, why my wife was in the programme in February, and why even this thread is a triumph for the campaign. It is NOT just a silly bucket of water it is the fact far more people in the UK are aware of MND than were a month ago. If this raises money for care and research so much the better but it is really not the main initial intention.
