What say you, Lundan Cabbie?

Does this involve going back in time and only playing 2 points for a win?

No, there's a bit more to it than that.
OG's elimination table is a vast over-simplification. Hartlepool could end up on 60 points, and in the current table that would put them just outside automatic promotion. But the end-of-season table will be very different, there are 108 games and anywhere between 216 and 324 points yet to be handed out, and for Hartlepool to actually finish 4th would require every team above them to achieve an average of zero points per game. This is of course impossible. Much better to assume an average of between 1 and 1.5 points per game.
Of course it would be very difficult to make an absolute statement on where Hartlepool could finish - calculating every possible final table would take far too long, even on the best computers available today. The best we can do is make an estimate.
It's the KISS principle.OG's elimination table is a vast over-simplification
7th is still open to them, i didn't try to get them any higher but they probably couldAndrew Owen":2pn1aptq said:According to my fag-packet maths, Hartlepool can only finish 12th.

I can't wait to see the Sheridan Out thread after we miss out on the playoffs to Hartlepool

I prefer your simple version but just wanted to point out that Hartlepool could in theory still finish in the play-offs, the website i used let you choose Home win, Draw or Away win for the remaining fixtures, there was a section to change goal difference too but i just left that blank which is why it was still the same.Ottawa Green":1kzjfp03 said:Argyle bit of a flaw in your table for Hartlepool
As of today Hartlepool is
35 -32 27
under yours at end of season Hartlepool is
46 -32 60
so you are saying Hartlepool will win all their remaining 11 games yet their goal difference will be exactly the same as it is today :sigh:
As i said earlier KISS just enjoy the ride, why make it complicated.
