My choices for a returning loan player would be:

1) Hardie

2) Copper

3) Grant

Lots of expectations being placed on the shoulders of a very young man in Mike Cooper. Hope that either hes up to it or that people dont turn on him and ruin him if things dont go as is expected.

Totally agree. I think people forget he has only played a couple of times in the senior team.

If he is the starting goalkeeper next season, he has to prove himself as one of the best 60 or so goalkeepers in the UK, with many of them from overseas.

How much younger is he compared to Palmer? RL seems to think he is ready.

3 years and a couple of seasons equivalence of experience.

Lowe is nurturing confidence with his comments. Not sure he actually believes what he is saying.

Well maybe one of the best 120 to 150 or so anyway as teams in the top two divisions will have a couple at least ahead of him currently. It will be a big step up and 20/21 is very young for a first choice keeper even in the lower leagues. Let's hope he can live up to expectation and prove his worth because we can then use the loan market elsewhere.

Thing is Jerry, with the third choice being released we will have to either recruit or loan a keeper. A loanee would probably expect to play. A recruit may be the way forward but finding one willing to be back up to a 20 year-old may be tricky.

Only read today that Grant is likely to sign for another club after being released by Chelsea and turning down a contract from Argyle.

Shame really

And if we aim for a professional backup goalkeeper who is perhaps not as good as Cooper, who is happy to be understudy to someone of Cooper's ability. What level is that goalkeeper, non league? It certainly isn't Alex Palmer who is too good to be on the bench watching Cooper when he can play regularly for Shrewbury, Oxford or Wycombe.

Suddenly we are going into League One quite weak in the GK department if we are determined Cooper is the number 1.

Better to aim for the return of Palmer or an equivalent, and make Cooper prove he is better, like McCormick had to do with Larrieu.

Lowe has a decision to make, although I suspect he may have already made it and Michael Cooper will be the starting keeper next season, which I personally think is the right decision. There comes a time when you have to give a good youngster the chance to show if he is up to it and that time has come for Cooper. There is no point in him having another full season on the bench, Argyle have invested a lot in this young man and now is the time to see the benefit of that.

Alex Palmer did great for us (if only we had signed him the season before), but with West Brom likely to be in the Premiership next season he will either stay there - most Clubs at that level like to have 3 quality Keepers - or perhaps move to a Championship club on another loan.

If Cooper is to be the first choice, we obviously need an experienced Keeper to mostly sit on the bench but who could come in and do a job if required, similar to the situation when the likes of Bitner and Letheren were here.

Luke McCormick anyone...

Have to say, I'm not bothered.
