So, if the Fencing is definitley going to br blocking the access and the Steps it is, wouldn't it have been prudent of the Club to prewarn everyone ? Thats a lot of steps for some.

Grandstander jokes aside, that's good reason to grumble. Foreward thinking and Argyle ?
I

Like this?

https://www.pafc.co.uk/news/2018/septem ... nd-lights/

"The area around the gate is one where new building work has started, with a section of the walkway around the ground fenced off, and spectators should bear this in mind when attending Saturday's match."

Pretty non specific and announced 48 Hours before the game. Without going up and checking first, do I tell someone who struggles on steps it's all ok ?

How many reading this thread were aware of this before looking on the Club Site after seeing it here ?

Good morning, the situation this morning is much improved on what I s aw yesterday evening. As GreensOnScreen mentioned, a temporary walkway has been opened up.
As mentioned, it will be a bottle neck, but no where near as bad as what was seen on the photo I took.
There were workmen working on it this morning at 08:15, so there is the remote possibility things may improve further.

I assume there is a reasonable cost associated with creating this temporary facility for around a year.

Two thoughts

What is likely to happen to the drainage system once this area is no longer required as changing rooms?

Will the area need to be restored to its previous look and will this be a long job?

Probably not as big as you think.

The units will be modular so lifted into place and the associated drainage will be slightly adapted to support such needs from the water supplies already in and around the area.

Once compete the modular cabins will be lifted back out and temporary drainage works restored to original.

Still incredibly curious to see (and hear) how this will work, because presumably they’ll need soundproofing.

Otherwise there’ll be nothing stopping fans literally putting their ears to the walls and hearing anything from team talks to bollockings to arguments among the players, and hopefully raucous celebrations.

Have you never heard of Janner Whispers?

You'd have to climb over the fence that's going to be around it.

I doubt any fence or soundproofing will mask the noise outside of the changing rooms if this run keeps up.

Looking at the webcam 1 pictures the "footings" suggest that when the changing rooms are in place there will only be a tiny gap through to the Lyndhurst turnstiles which could be dangerous for thousands of people to try to get through at the end of a game.

So presumably some sort of detour in the opposite direction to where you actually want to go will be required?

If you are in Blocks 14 to 22 the quickest way out if you are going to town or Milehouse is behind the Barn Park and then up Blunts Lane.

Just had a look at this weeks set of photo's on GOS & it appears to me the changing rooms do not extend past the line of the lynhurst wall so hopefully will be no restriction as is the same width as current walkway along the length of the lyndhurst.

Give the club some credit. They would have thought of the safety implications when they had these building works in mind. Anyhow it wouldn't have passed planning permission if it didn't satisfy the planners regarding safety.
