Shocking. Played advantage when there wasn't one, brought it back when there was, especially Lameiras when he broke free in the first half. Clear sending off for bringing down Carey because he made no attempt to play the ball, the number 5 didn't get booked for kicking Sarcevic in the head first half or bringing down Carey in the second half when he was on the counter attack. And that's just to name a few of the incidents, a lot seemed to go Wigan's way today.

I voted him a one, only for the first five minutes of the second half when he actually booked a Wigan player,no advantage given when lamerias was clean through, sternly spoke to (I think,)the same player twice with a "No more!" gesture, should have been a booking second time, lost control of the game completly,Lino Lyndhurst side eaqually inept, don't know why he was even there! Ref.allowed Wigan to get away with too much.Poor.

Very poor. He missed so much its not true. Wigan may easily have finished the game with 9 players had the officials been more alert.

Just saw Wigan's second goal - unbelievable. Fox pushed to the ground quite clearly.

Yep. That's what I thought at the time although maybe that's with green tints.

Just seen the replay. For the penalty not only did their player have no attempt to play the ball and Carey was 1 on 1 with the keeper, (straight red unless the rules have changed) he also smacked the ball away as hard as he could when he found out he conceded the penalty. So even if the pen was a yellow its a 2nd yellow for kicking it away. I wonder if he only got booked for kicking it away as the card didn't come out immediately.

Granted at one point one of their players managed to get the ball to the corner flag wheb conceding a free kick on the half way line and the ref did nothing.

Very much a bottler this guy. Anyone have a clip of Carey getting elbowed off of the ball?

Pretty sure the rules are yellow if a penalty is given. So there isn't a double punishment. Professional foul outside the area could be a red as there's no penalty

Hmmm, tell that to the ref who sent off Edwards.

Also the ref who sent off Miller earlier in the season

Not one to usually criticise referees, but I am becoming increasingly annoyed by the inconsistencies this one displayed today. Pushing and shoving when going for the high ball, playing advantage, kicking the ball away, and time wasting at substitutions were frequently ignored.Burn (33) used his hands on opponents more often than in an average 10 rounds boxing match. The FA needs to back referees against the cynical practices of both players and managers.
One suggestion to stop time wasting at substitutions; indicate which players to change from the touchline, ref indicates changes, whistles to play on, players cross on field but if either touches the ball or opponent in the exchange (watched by 4th Official) then both sent off.

He had a shocking first half, as poor as I have seen for a long time. He literally had no control over the game and he quickly booked 3 of their players at the start of the 2nd half in an attempt to make amends. However it was too late by then.
