Pretty sure the rules are yellow if a penalty is given. So there isn't a double punishment. Professional foul outside the area could be a red as there's no penalty

Hmmm, tell that to the ref who sent off Edwards.

Also the ref who sent off Miller earlier in the season

Agreed, that is the issue tho. Inconsistencies are running this game.

Out of interest do referees and officials receive any feedback from clubs they’ve officiated for and are they ever looked into if they receive a poor review from a club?

The officials that we had yesterday got too many key decisions wrong and we all know nothing will change the result but they should be scrutinised by there peers for there woeful display never to be seen officiating in the EFL again

I do normally try to play the give and take game with referees but have to say yesterday was dire yet when you look back this guy was highly rated in previous game 9 out of 10. In my opinion it is the linesmen that are really poor blatant foul play that they must see but hardly ever flag.........THEY SHOULD BE S~~~ lol does Mr Ferguson have a point. On the plus side thought we did fairly well yesterday against a side that cost a fortune and are undoubtebly getting promoted. We aint the finished article but heading in the right direction.........

There was a drop bar in the first half for a 'head' injury to their cb when we were attacking - 35 yards out. Sarc and I think Carey were clearly saying to the ref that can we play it a a drop ball (ie one from each side contest it) but he insisted Wigan kick it back to Remi Matthews.

What's that all about? How can the ref dictate how a drop ball is played?

New rule or another example of his ineptitude (other than the above he was incredibly weak and had no idea on the basic premise of the advantage rule)

He was shocking! Wimped out of giving a second yellow in the second half when it was more than justified! The hard thing is you can't do a bloody thing about it! Sit and bear it!

Just saw Wigan's second goal - unbelievable. Fox pushed to the ground quite clearly.

Really? Fox runs from the touchline at the half way line and doesn't even get near to any Wigan player.

Just before that, he's on the touch line and the Wigan player runs straight at him and makes no attempt to play the ball. You can't see it on the tv highlights as they cut to play a bit late, but it's clear on the Sky extended highlights.

Fair enough then. That explains it.

I was sitting in Block 13, had a great view of it. Fox wasn't fouled. He should have offloaded it. Got caught in possession and lost the ball.

From block 10 it looked like a 2 handed shove in the chest. The way he fell over backwards seems to back this up.

Decisions based on opinion are not wrong decisions. Was it a foul, was it not a foul? If the referee decides it wasn't then that is the CORRECT decision. The Laws of the Game say so.

So that's why my ex always believes she's right.
