That is the Demport End and the gap between the Demport and Spion Kop - houses behind will be Outland Road.
Also the door/exit at the back of the Demport End (far left in picture), the Lyndhurst didn't have a door/exit at the back of it - you entered the Lyndhurst either end in the good old days - before extra fencing at the Barn Park end of the Lindy.
Yes, definitely the original Devonport End roof, build by the Supporters' Club (with financial help from Ballard) in 1930 - see top-left in this pic and also described
here. It was demolished in 1977, 2 years after the Mariner photo was taken. Interesting to see Swillyboy call it the Ballard Stand - I've never heard it called that before. I know Ballard did have part of a stand named after him - the west-end extension of the grandstand that was destroyed in the war.
And going off-topic even more, I'm interested to know when the term 'Spion Kop' took hold. It was never that in my day (gulp, did I really use that phrase?!). It was always The Sleepers. Not due to the habits of the inhabitants, but because of the railway sleepers used in its construction. And it wasn't exactly a hotbed of fervour, which makes the SK reference even more strange, given its usual use in football (a stand occupied by a club's most vocal supporters - e.g. Liverpool's Kop).
Back on topic, yes there was a surprising number of shirts on display - the club must have done very well in the first 24 hours of sale. Not sure I'd call 75% green and 25% white 'stripes' though!
