Reuben is on fire at the moment, I can understand the speculation.

I'd be pig sick if we sold him in this window or the next.

Saying that, IF we got promoted this season and IF a Championship offered (say) £500k to a £1m for him (with add ons) in the close season, it would be bleddy hard to turn it down wouldn't it?

It's the way of the world I'm afraid, we are way down the food chain. Look what we did to 'little 3rd and 4th tier clubs' when we were in the CCC. Just look what Barnsley (Barnsley) did to us recently with Connor.

I don't see us losing Reubs just yet, A) He loves it here and B) He still has a lot to prove as far as the bigger boys are concerned I'd imagine.

If he has (which is very possible) another 20 plus season, of should he creep up into the high 20's or 30's THEN we'd have a fight on to keep him.

The season before last, I'd have sworn I'd never write these words, but he is a lean and mean scoring machine. Let's hope he turns it on for the TV audience on Saturday eh? A nice hat trick would be nice, plus it'd stick another £200k on to his 'price'.

Why is Marvin Morgan making his views known? !!!!!!!!!

My guess is this is the club/PR "socialising" the idea that Reid will be sold- I would doubt it will be today; when he isn't sold today it will be seen as a "success". The relatively minor gamble that he will keep his form going until January 2015 will then make it "inevitable" that he will be sold in January! BY which time it will be suggested the club has "done well" to keep hold of him this long.

Just a guess though...

Reuben has been fantastic in the games I have seen this season- a big step up even from last year.

I think you're probably right there, Pastie

The contract should mean at least we get a Plymouth price for him

300k then.

I think Argyle would realise they'd lose that in the next home game's attendance.

Does seem a crazy thing to put on the OS though.

It does scream 'Come and get me'.

It ask screams that the club's PR department is clueless.

To be fair though Tuggers most of us knew that already.

indeed we do.
sometimes they really do amaze.
The unprofessionalism is astounding.
And yet sometimes (Charlie's Exeter video) they come up with great idea's.

Its very naive to think that Reid isn't on a lot of clubs radar's.

However at the moment only a very small number of clubs in League 1/Championship are in "panic mode" and aren't willing to go mad. If he continues to play well and probably far more crucially for us - score, then when January comes a host of desperate clubs/managers will not only be prepared to take the gamble but will be prepared to pay a premium price.

Even with the Chairman's much talked about lack of football awareness, surely others could well point out that if he continues in his current form, we could well see decent L1 or Championship sides go to £750K+ in January where as right now we would be highly unlikely to get half that.

For now we must keep Reid, then look at the situation in January.

Deranged to print that, utterly deranged. Can't imagine any other football league club actually publishing this....
unless of course it really is a 'come and get him' from a club desperate to meet a balloon payment and running out of options given what a spectacular balls-up plan A was from the start????

Could this actually be a genuine "come and get him" call from the club, under contract so would get a decent amount of dollar for him.

I so hope not but you just never know what is going through the minds of them up top! :?

I cannot believe what I have just read on the official site :banghead: It's clearly deliberate, no-one can be that incompetent, can they?
