Err, that was his intention I'd imagine Mike.
That's what he said. It went something like 'We're attempting to attract women and kids into our football club and if they went on line all they'd see is hate from these type of people'.
Why hide from them? Why not front them up? That's what he's done, and we're attempting to do on this thread.
You're a prime example (but a matey one) of being influenced by the freaks. You are or were convinced that I am Dave Nine. That has been put in your head because they rock backwards and forward chanting 'Pasoti Mods and Owners have multis' time and time and time again.
They are wrong, not one Mod has and if I tried to (which I haven't) the likes of Mark, Keith, Ollie etc etc would be on my in a second. It's not the site works anymore, It's as simple as that. A few years ago I made an error of judgement and it caused a great stir etc etc, but when I come back, the Mods made it quite clear that was not the way they wanted it run. They were totally right.
So, it goes to show that some people are influenced by them, you are an example of that. Why should they get away with saying such stuff?
If you met someone and you knew he/she was liar you'd front them out wouldn't you? So why should the net be any difference.
Sam Allardyce said something similar.
The overwhelming silver lining in Brent buying the Freehold is of course that he'll be up the road a darn sight quicker, once his profit target can be realised. Him buying the Freehold thankfully makes this possible.
The lingering danger is still here though, and it has worsened. He apparently blew £1.5m on the most half-arsed plan known to man which of course was doomed to fail, which it did way before planning was permitted for Bretonside. Brent will be looking now to recoup that outlay too, which means his plan for a micro-stand could have that budget slashed even further - that was, is and always will be my issue with Brent - his plans DO NOT have PAFC's best longterm interests as a no1 priority. He showed that clearly with his doomed plan with no supporters bar and all retail unit rental going straight to Akkeron.
He quite simply must not be allowed to build PAFC a 4th division stand. Sell up, make your profit, and let someone with genuine vision and PAFC at heart have a go.
You obviously dont trust him as much as i do. Most argyle fans i know trust him ok.
So no lingering danger for me. As for not having argyles long term interests at heart.
Is that the same for peter jones, tony wrathall and the rest of the board then? They seem to
trust his long term interests just fine. Also whats to stop the next owner offering the
same package as he is. What you seem to want is not only a chris dawson type, but someone who has
argyle in his heart as well. Good luck at finding him down here in the sleepy SW. Your going to need it.
As for the HHP development i backed it as the best we were likely to get at the time.
Most did back it at first. Where the problems arose though was with the inability to increase the size
at a later date if we ever managed premier status and go hold of some real dosh.
I thought at the time we could build a big 2/3 tier stand at the demport where it could be extended
into the car park. Not central park. Also i was hoping safe standing would be legalised at
some point and used to supplement the capacity and give supporters more choice with it.
The non argyle rent and no supporters bar you make valid points. I would still have taken the
new stand despite all that though as the commercial stuff was needed to pay for it and the bar
could have been hopefully added later perhaps taking over one of the units commercially.
Argyles income would come from the banqueting etc.
Whatever, it all fell apart. Lets wait and see now what the freehold and 2020 brings if
anything.
